Local Governments Respond to AUMA with Wide Variety of Ordinances

Both before and after the passage of the AUMA, California local governments moved quickly to either implement AUMA’s “local control” provisions or enact moratoriums for more time to consider their options. Others acted to outright ban recreational cultivation and sales, despite AUMA’s built-in incentives for local governments to allow cultivation.
